Well what a mad summer us londoners have had. It's had its ups and downs (weatherwise it has been mostly downs lol) and its gonna be autumn on tuesday! 15 or 16 weeks from Christmas and a new year! so I've got some MAJOR movements I need to be making before the year is out...but I must remember things happen at the right time and that we realise that in hindsight...il get there..

My mate's dragging me to Notting Hill Carnival tomorrow. Maybe when I get there Il feel different but right now I could just chill tomorrow. lol..

Hey hey hey. well since the last time I blogged, I've been on the grrrrrrrrrind. My 9 to 5 is killing me but I'm still tryna find time to do some bloggies for you. This one is a likkle flashback to the recording of my EP. It was in this massive studio in North Weezy (north west london lol). The sound was quality and Desmond (studio engineer) was a star. We had some fun. Good times. Can't wait to do some more recording there...

But back to 2009. lol. tired as a mofo and I'm starting to get cranky so I betta slow down. Given myself a deadline to finish the mixtape by the end of July. Really anxious and excited at the same time, which is a kerazy feeling. Got lotsa good things coming up so stay tuned...

Hey hey hey!!!!!There's a new blog below it's just I started editing it from a while ago and it has published it from that date so SOWEE!!

ANYWAY when I got back from London I hung out with my sis DanDan and went rollerskating in Vauxhall with her and some friends. It was fun!fun!fun! and they were playing FUNKY house which made it even better!

Spent some time in the studio with the Allen Bros, working on my mixtape. Tryna wrap up everything next week. DanDan took me to a wicked Thai restaurant BUSABA EATHAI. They have lovely homemade lemonade, the prices are decent and the food is to die for! Check it out WWW.BUSABA.COM

Well this blog is WELL overdue. Back in London and to reality. :-( But this blog shows you the last bit of me holiday. We went to Sawgrass Mills, a tremondously massive gigantic shopping outlet in Florida. And I saw the loveliest trainers (sneakers lol) known to man.lol.(pictured left). Also browsing the net, I checked fashion label 'Married to the Mob', and I'm very much feeling their 'Well-behaved' t-shirt. Need to cop that soon.

The day after I got back to London, I went to a Hello Kitty event in Covent Garden, celebrating Hello Kitty's birthday. I know you 're thinking this big woman going to a Hello Kitty event, well HELLO but she is the cutest character ever. Larger in real life as you can see in the pic and she's got the sweetest merchandise!lol.

Well the mixtape is coming along nicely as you'll be able to see in the next blog and hey I may throw in a sample!... but the deadline is in 2 weeks so soon come.

Well it's been an eventful holiday to say the least. The last couple of days have had thunderstorms so we seem to be leaving at the right time! We went to Fat Tuesday's (a bar on South Beach) and had some alcoholic slurpies. Mine was rum punch mixed with raspberry amongst other things. And it was 'The bomb.com' lol. The pictures came out really well and I will upload some more very soon. Considering we were sweating under the sun and went to various locations in the space of a few hours, they came out lovely. Big up to the photographer 'The Real Miami Vice' (pictured with sis Nadine) lol

What was also lovely was meeting up with a fellow London Bird and friend Hannah (pictured above). Until recently, we didn't know we booked our holidays around the same time. My sis and I met up with her and her friends and enjoyed cherry ices, even though we had to repeatedly stab them with all our might to get any out of the cup to eat.lol

We also went to famous club 'LIV' at the exquisite 'Fontaine Bleau' Hotel for my cousin's birthday, who ran the club night. And none other than Nas was there to give him birthday wishes! The club was banging, the drinks were flowing... Oh yeah, our cousin introduced us to the drink Nuvo. It's absolutely gorge and it's pink, which gives it top marks from me lol..

HEY HEY people! WHAT A HOLIDAY IT'S BEEN. Coming home in a few days and I do miss home a bit. But I've been having plenty of laughs over here and I ain't gonna get the sun, sand and sea like this back home.lol. My cousin Lunchmoney (www.myspace.com/lunchmoneymuzik) has a mixtape coming out soon (july 4th) so we were working on something that would possibly go on it. Also in the video blog, is his friend Bizerk who will also feature on his mixtape so watch out for that!

Met up with some more family, soaked up the sun, ate some more heart attack food....I actually haven't got much else to say cos it's all kinda in the video blog(lol)...so enjoy...x

SAY CHEESE!!!!

YESTERDAY was a good day.We managed to crawl out of bed and met photographer Tony Ozegovich for the photoshoot. I grabbed a few bits from my suitcase and put some outfits together. The first location was downtown where he also showed us some graffiti art him and his friends did (you can see some of the artwork in the video blog too!). The sun was blazing and we were sweltering but we got on with it! One location was at the top of a parking lot where the view of Miami was absolutely amazing.The last location was South Beach! After taking some pictures, we walked the whole strip and tasted a lovely alcoholic slurpy from the bar 'Fat Tuesdays'. We also passed the place where TV programme 'Miami Ink' was filmed as well as the newly refurbished location. Wish I could get another tatoo but I'm running out of time :-(..but then again?lol...

We ate some lovely fresh spanish food down Espanola Way at restaurant 'Tapas & Tintos'.The street was really picturesque with cobbled roads and lots of fairy lights.And after lots of clothes-changing, running around, posing and chatting we called it a day around 9 pm.

Hopefully going studio tomorrow so until then my people

OHHHHWAAA!!!IT'S NOT FAIR!!!

YES IT'S NOT FAIR I can't cop the gold 'Creative Recreation' trainers!!!They were calling me but it's all my bloody purse's fault for not having no money in it. kmt I tell ya.lol. Well after that trauma, Nadine and I went to FOREVER 21 and purchased some bargains and went back to the yard to get ready to go out that evening. Our cousin runs a night called 'Miami Soul Sessions" where there's live music as well as great DJs and a nice vibe. It's held at Club 323 and everything in there is white. Pretty suave I must say. We said we'd leave 'early' as we had a photoshoot the next day but we ended up getting home at around 3am! So you can imagine the crazy morning we created (which is in my next blog peeps) ...

Started writing for one of the songs for the mixtape. It's hard sometimes cos when you think something is just 'decent', someone else could think it's "The Bomb.com!" (as my lil cuz says) or of course vice versa lol. Well, Ima keep working on it and get TRUTH moveMENT approval when I get back home.

MIA BABAY!!!

Well we've finally got rid of our jet-lag and we're ready to parlay!! The video blog below shows ya what we've been up to so far. We visited Versace's house which has now been converted into a hotel and restaurant. Walked along South Beach and Ocean Drive and went to the Kardashian sisters' boutique 'Dash'! Then we came across this pet shop called 'Petit puppies'. There were the cutest teenweeny dogs: a parent's nightmare if their child goes in there cos there's a chance they won't be coming out empty-handed! lol

And then we had our chill-out times when we were just chillaxing by the pool and soaking up the sun. I miss home (You gotta miss home right?lol) but I'm having a wonderful time and my sis is making my laugh and we've got so much to do before we leave! She has a photoshoot tomorrow, that I might hi-jack...so watch this space!

Well my dears I'm loving MIA!!! Got a rental car with my sis Nadine so we are fully independent lol. Went to 'the Maalll' with my cousins and found the cutest kid's store called 'Miss Katie's Charm School". It had lots of little necklaces, beads, tutus, toys and the cutest maternity wear. No, I'm not pregnant but I can still look can't I? And I'm loving these vest tops (pictured left). Heya it's me again. I'm in Miami!!! lapping up the sun, writing and reflecting. Out with my mad sis Nadine. We've been going mad on skype and both have a bout of twitteritis lol..anyways I'm knocking up a blog about our lil adventures in Miami so hold tight...

Anyways in the meantime, just wanna let you know how much I love my funky house. There's a mixtape done by the name of DJ Shafty which I'm feeling and there's some wicked tunes on it including 'kiss from a stranger' (above) or I think the original is called 'kissing strangers'. Its a house tune produced by german DJ Ralf Gum and the vocals are by a lady by the name of Monique Bingham but I'm loving this remix. This is the best quality I could find I'm afraid but I have a feeling they'll be better versions once it gets even more play than it's been getting.

IT'S BEEN A WHILE x

Well once again it's been a long time. been busy working and singing and recording and performing but its all good. A few weeks ago I performed in a nice venue called the Bar Music Hall, Shoreditch. It was a lovely summer's day and my lovely friend and wicked photographer Anja King took some photos of me!

The mixtape's coming along and got just a few more songs to go before we ( TRUTH moveMENT) make decisions on the final choice of songs and mix it down. Got some gems produced by some of the TRUTH as well as some collabos including a duet wit my big sis and big singer Miss Nadine Charles and instrumentals you'll know! The video blog shows her putting down her vocals on the track and her son giving her tips on some adlibs lol. Also working on me logo again with a good friend and through all the heartache and pain of it all, I'm enjoying getting this mixtape together and can't wait for the finished result...might give you a little snippet soon, but in a few weeks it will be available for download on my myspace! WHAT A LIFE! well I've been busy working and getting stuff together.here's a lil summin 4 ya. I'm the official Portobello Market fan and visit there even when its packing up time as you will see in the vid. Working on my mixtape as well which will be out soon so hold tight my friends!

Was my birthday yesterday but I love birthdays so much I actually call this period my birthweek and celebrate for like 7 days.lol. Started off raving it up last saturday at Dj Quincy's 'Intoxication' party which was heavy. Got home bout 6am and then raved on monday with one of me best mateys in a bar (vendome) in knightsbridge. Had lurvely strawberry champagne. THEN on my birthday I received lotsa texts and love and Truth Movement dropped by my house before I went out again yesterday night to another club. And somehow amongst all this I got to work on time everyday.lol.

Well as you will see in the blog last week was slightly manic. I had so much fun with Lynnike and Sefa on their drivetime show (tues and thurs on Bang radio 103.6 fm). Its so nice to meet other crazy girls. lol. I still can't get over the red light that tells you you're on air. It's like as soon as it comes on my mind loses memory. YEAH YEAH! heya people. Thank you for your messages that I've been receiving since the Anthony Hamilton show. I'm looking to release a mixtape in the next few weeks so I will keep you updated and show you the process on my blog.

Boy it was quite nerve-wracking but I managed to get through it AND keep my heels on throughout the set!lol. Before I went on, Anthony was at the side of the stage with me which probably made me even more nervous but he told to just take deep breaths and il be fine. but i think the more he was talking to me the more I wanted to have a panic attack.lol. Anyways as soon as I start one of my songs, for some reason I start to feel at ease and I enjoyed performing and was really pleased with the feedback.

Anyways, Il be uploading video footage but in the meantime Ive uploaded some pics of me with some friends I was with yesterday. We had a lovely time talking bout back-in-the-days mobiles that were like the size of bricks as well as other madness and then went to a party in a car park. yeah in a car park! It was wicked with trainers hanging everywhere and the walls decorated with graffiti, and I didn't get home till bout 3am. Which is why I'm signing off and going to bed!lol

Yes last time you saw how we got bumped in McDonalds with my sister paying £4 for a kids Happy Meal.lol Well all was not doom and gloom as we enjoyed a day in Sol (Madrid's City Centre) amongst other things. MADRID was wicked! stayed in a pucker 5 star hotel and my bedroom was round. yes hevryting was round, the walls, the bed,etc etc. The weather was lovely too and me and my sis

performed at a club for music project 2000 Black (www.myspace.com/2000black). The musics really high energy and the crowd were loving it. After the performance DJs Benji B and Dom were rocking it HARD!

What a beenie up to 2? (boo to the cold!)

Oh my days. this cold is getting on my last nerve. Right about now I sound like a female version of Joe Cocker, and he's a wicked singer and that but it does not suit me at all. My throat feels like its got a thousand nails lodged inside it. anyway enough of my hypochondriac moaning.

This blog just highlights some things that I've been up to in the last couple of weeks. I sang at a charity event for my old school. They were raising money to donate to the British Heart Foundation and CRY (Cardiac Risk in Young). This was also in memory of a former student Fabian Maingot who tragically passed away as a result of a heart disorder. The concert was wonderful and it was lovely to be a part of something that would help change some people's lives.

I also saw some old school friends and met the amazing Jason Yarde. Now Jason Yarde and I knew each other through myspace but there's nothing like meeting up face to face. He's a lovely guy and a BAAD! (in the colloquial sense lol) saxophonist and composer, CHECK OUT HIS MYSPACE YA HEAR!lol

First one I am performing at is to raise awareness of human trafficking. I watched a video clip compiled by the organisation Hope for Justice, explaining how slavery is still rife throughout the world. 'In fact as you read this, two children per minute are being sold.'Which is why I'm performing this thursday 25th March at the YMCA, 25 St. Mary's Road, Ealing, W5 5 RE to support the cause. Come down! Free admission but donations welcome on the night!

I've officially gone crazy. Jus tryna get the music off the ground feels long right now but in my mind there is no alternative, so I gotta take the rough with the smooth etc. Well a week ago I performed for the first time this side of the year. It was at the 'LOL show'. It was a show involving other artists, comedians and a lovely poet by the name of NATALIE FIAWOO. she tore it up. i'm going to post a poem of hers soon so keep your eyes peeled...

Dreaming of going away to the sunny land of Miami. I'm there in my mind so I guess in time Il actually be there in reality. In the meantime I'm getting meself together in good ole london and soon Il have some tracks for you to download whilst the EPs getting finished. Anyways il keep you posted.

Some friends came round and chilled at my house last night and ended up doing their nails. I'm not really bothered about my nails seeing as I play the guitar, and the nail varnish only gets chipped off ( :-( ) but I love the print so much I want them done NOW! AMY where are youuuuuuu?!!!!lol

I'm kinda feeling these black YSL 'cage' shoes (below) Yes they look a bit on the mad side but I think in a mad kinda way they're quite versatile and would give a dramatic edge to a simple outfit.

Music is the best cure

Well its been a nice week. I recovered and went back to my general day to day life. Went by Kassa's and him and Sean (Bassman) was working on a track with Bashy. Caught some joke.Had Sean give me a lecture bout taking care of my health and that. He was like 'why don't you have your painkillers on you?' and I was like 'Cos im fine. I don't feel any pain' so he was like 'so what happens when you do?' Umm...aahhh...Sean I guess you have a point so you'll be happy to know I have them with me everywhere I go.lol

Started laying down harmonies and that for my EP and trying to get hold of some string players.

Also I had some session work last weekend which was fun, especially cos it was some funky house tunes. And last night Kassa, his sis Abeni and myself had a 'You Tube Fight'. Basically finding tunes that the other person couldn't find or searching for a propa old tune that some one else couldn't remember etc. You catch my drift. Sad I know but don't go on like you haven't done it before, and if you haven't then you will eventually .lol

From new year's eve chilling to new year's day ravin to some new year's days in hospital (lol)

Well where do I start the new year has been a barrel of laughs to say the least. Il put a video blog up over the weekend but for now here's a lil summin.

New Year's Eve was lovely. Had some of The Truth Movement and fam over me yard. Cooked a lil summin and jus chilled. Didn't leave til 5am. dirty stop-outs lol.

New Year's Day my girl Dandan took me to a rave in Vauxhall. We had good times.Donaeo was rockin it with his new tune 'PARTY HARD!' and Hotsteppa, GalFlex, FabVibes, Invasion and many more were there doing their thing.

A couple of days ago I wasn't feeling well and thought nothing of it. But I got worse and had to rush to the hospital. Had my mum with her deadly eyebrows frowning at me with her 'you should look after yourself and eat right' monologue. But its all good cos i know she loves me.lol.

I was in alot of pain and the doctors have to go through some sort of survey with me. The nurse (who was lovely by the way) was asking me "now on a scale of 1-10, how much pain are you in?" Its like well I sure as hell wouldn't come to hospital if I was a 1. I'm thinking just give me some painkillers so I can get out of here. Then the nurse said "Do you know who you look like? Alexandra from X-factor"...for some reason I've been getting that alot. Which I don't mind but when I'm in severe pain, rolled up in a ball on one side of the hospital bed, it's not really the right time.lol

Anyways they kept me overnight, the staff were lovely and helpful and I feel much better.

Well I'm getting myself together and next week got some rehersals and overdubbing for the EP!

Boy 2009 is right round the corner but I'm gonna chill at my house this time round and watch a bit of Jools Holland, have friends and family round and just enter the new year with no stress. The news have warned people to wrap up warm as temperatures are meant to drop to minus 13 or summin. Me and cold weather do not go together so I don't know bout chu but I think I'm gonna stay in the warmth of my lovely flat.

From Stage To Studio To Being Locked Outside My House

Well since the last blog, Me and the boys (TRUTH moveMENT) went studio to start the recording of the EP.It was fun and now we got loads of overdubs to look forward to.Im going to have to put harmonies down and other instruments are going to be added, including strings. I am so in love with strings, since I was young I always thought about learning the violin and cello. Strings can make me cry trus me! a good string arrangement to me is like kryptonite to superman.lol. (im such a geek)

Oh my days how the hell did I lock myself out of my flat after just settling in there!I just got off the phone to my mum and said that I will see her later. Then I put something in my front door to hold it open whilst I was putting the rubbish out. I walk out my door, happy as a bumblebee, then SLAM! the door shuts. It might as well said 'ha ha' like nelson from the Simpsons. So luckily my neighbours were in and I used their phone and rang my mum and she came with the spare key.I know she secretly loved the fact I had to call her. So much for showing her my independence.lol

Anyways my dears. I'm not totally useless and I have a gig on 28th DEC! FREE ENTRY!FULL BAND!FULL SET! I'm on around 9pm but there's DJs too! So come down and carry on the festive spirit! x

Hey hey people, well I said I was only gonna do video blogs but I thought I should drop in a written one once in a while. It has been manic for the past couple of weeks with lots of performances and preparing for the EP! I'm so excited but at the same time having mini heart attacks lol. I've been so busy I fell asleep at work today. But boss if you're reading this it was only for 10 mins I swear lol.

Last weekend I performed at an event for Nigerian Comedy.TV. There were many comedians that were funny including a guy called Kevin Jay,who you can see in the video blog.

The father of the late Daniel De-Gale made a speech about the foundation that was inspired by his son to promote bone marrow and blood donation from ethnic minorites. (www.aclt.org)

According to the ACLT, "African Caribbeans have a 1-in-100,000 chance of finding a compatible bone marrow donor, for white people the odds are 1-in-5.

Although there are about 750,000 people registered as donors in Britain, only about 22,000 are of African, African Caribbean or mixed race origin."

His poignant speech resulted in me signing up. With that speech, and other touching experiences in the week, I have been reminded just how precious life is and to enjoy every moment!

WHATEVER..GET IT TOGETHER

YES YES.Well its the end of another gig, another musical journey through my life, loads of ups and downs. It was good. It was raw. I played the guitar which was daunting at first but I quickly got into it. I haven't done an acoustic set in ages. That's how I started, just me and the guitar. It was real nice to do that again.

Most of my songs, if not all of them, are about my life experiences and sometimes I emotionally go back to that particular place in my life. Which is good and bad at the same time.lol. I cried on one particular song cos boy love sucks sometimes, but I had to suck it up and move on cos I had like 7 more songs to do.lol. The day wasn't the best of days either but I thought to use my energy to do a good performance and put my heart into the songs.

A few people talked but I'm used to that now.Honestly its cool cos it actually makes me work even harder on stage....But then again after a while it can be jarring.lol.Now yes I know I'm starting to sound like I'm moaning but I'm just repping us musicians.Put it this way, its like a friend telling you something that happened to her/him that was so deep and all during him/her telling you how he/she feels, you're talking over him/her.lol.But its all good.

I just have to suck it up and say to myself 'Whatever...get it together' innit

Well hey hey hey! these last couple of weeks have been manic. Had a gig @ The Soho Revue Bar, which went very well indeed. The sound in there is wicked and we all had a good time. Though preparing for it was alot of work. Whilst working at my 9 to 5 I had rehersals galore. First separately with the band and then some with the backing vocalists, then Full Band rehersals. I also was running around like a headless chicken trying to find something to wear and texting people to come as well as posting it on all the other web pages I have. Plus drugging myself with echinacea tablets to keep my cold at bay.'lol'(one word). And thats just to name a few things... Now I'm not having a moan or anything, Its just sometimes I meet people who think that putting a band together, writing songs and singing etc takes 2 mins. But theres so much work thats put in for those 20 mins on stage or even if you're singing one song. Well enough of me rambling.

I have a gig on the 8th OCT @ The Hidden Julep, 11 BOROUGH HIGH STREET, LONDON BRIDGE, SE1 9SE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! only £5

Its gonna be lovely! and I'm attempting to play the guitar!lol its gonna be a nice and intimate acoustic gig. Not to be missed.

Back to work tomorrow :-( and back to doodling and daydreaming about meeting Andre 3000, Bjork and being on the Jools Holland show whilst at work. :-(

I'm one of many of the amazing artists performing on the night. Going to perfrom NEW TUNES with a FULL BAND!Not to mention new members in the band! My lil sis will be doing backing vocals for me too so we're going to have sum lovely 3-part harmonies!!!YAY!not that you really care cos only geeks get happy over dem things.

THEN WE HAVE THE 8TH OCT SHOW @ THE HIDDEN JULEP, 11 Borough High Street, SE1 9SE

A lovely intimate set-up with Mike on guitar and Alex on percussion. A longer set of new and old songs. Going to find the courage somewhere inside me to play the guitar!

And today I took some piccies with the lovely Ikenna Mokwe. It was very daunting at first cos as soon as I saw his camera I wanted to pull a silly face. Then he said 'smile' and I was like pulling some kinda plastic-i-dont-know-what-the-hell-im-doing! smile. So he asked me about my egghead boyfriend and as soon as he asked me his name, I smiled so much I thought my face was going to split!lol. When he sends those pics Il put them up on me blog as well as a few others. I'm such a nutcase!

The day before, me, 'star' and my lil sis went to portobello market and saw the most gorgeous stuff. It was a lovely day and we were laughing all day, especially when we were all attempting to MC over my funky house compilation CD. In the car with the windows up, never to be heard again!lol

AND THE DAY BEFORE THAT it was my best friend DanDan's bday. It was a wicked night apart from the part where she forgot her ID and we were waiting in the cold for about 40 mins. And apart from the time when 'African Warrior' came on and I nearly got crushed and had drink spilt down my back (quite refreshing doh).lol. Oh yeah and apart from the part where my new shoes were starting to sever my feet off my body. lol. Apart form that I had a wicked time!As long as there's funky, I'm good!

Well I think I've rambled long enough and I promise I'll blog you lot in the next couple of days!

SSSSOOOORRRRRYYYYY! I took so long.its been a busy week.Kadija Kamara's gig was excellente! Check her myspace (www.myspace.com/kadijakamara). We had loadsa fun. She looked gorgeous, as you can see in the pics!

Theres a little dodgy video clip of Miles, Alex and I jamming in her house before the gig. I had an idea for a new song but then started to play my old songs. Alex grabbed a little bongo drum and Miles started on the sofa lol. It was too much!

my goddaughter lil lioness

Well, I said I'd share with you my ups and downs, and yesterday I had a bit of a nosedive. Sometimes its hard trying to get to where you want to be (I know alot of people reading this may be going through the same thing). Then I went to see my goddaughter and she changed my whole mood! She put on her favourite sunglasses and I just had to laugh. She tries to pose like a model, with her back to the camera and her head turned over her shoulder. I know, its madness the way kids go on these days.lol....but yeah sometimes you got to remember the simple things that are around you, you know...

5TH SEPT REHEARSAL!

Heya well I know I said friday i'd upload the rehearsal video but i got caught up in some things so sorry for the wait!

I wrote a song on i think last wednesday night. I was trying to go to bed but I kept hearing these chords. It was really late and I tried so hard to go to sleep hoping I could work it out in the morning but it just got worse and worse. So I wearily reached for the guitar (which is by my bed at all times) and played in the dark. At that kinda time, the light switch feels like miles away. I used my mobile phone light to write the words out and finished it that night. At the end of the rehersal video is a snippet of the new song!

Over the weekend, I wrote some new songs on another project I'm involved in called The Truth Movement, and been trying to arrange further rehearsals as I might have a gig on October 1st in London Bridge so WATCH THIS SPACE!

TODAY i've been tryin to sort out a few things...practiced the guitar, piano and vocals...Vocals is the worse cos the neighbours can hear me.lol.oh well...wat can i do ey?

Nothing much to report apart from givin you an EXCLUSIVE! i recorded a new song I wrote called "The way I love you". just me and guitar. Excuse my guitar playing ok?! I play by ear and it's funny cos my friend kept askin me to play an A over some chord I was playing and I looked at him and said 'I don't know what I'm playin rememba?' he jus laughed cos he completely forgot.

I write most of my songs at night for some reason. Some songs I dream about. This one I was thinkin about whilst drivin home and had to keep singin it to myself whilst I was drivin so I didnt forget it.lol.I heard the music in my head and as soon as i got home I picked up my guitar and went from there.... Anyways hope u like it

YES TODAY I struggled out of bed and tonight I'm struggling to go to bed. I think that sums up most musicians' sleeping pattern.lol

I managed to get myself together to go and join "my sis from another miss" and her mum for birthday breakfast. It was her mum's birthday.Now you're probably wondering why the hell I have this picture on the right(after the pic of me and Dandan). Well my sis J is half-Turkish and in their culture the tiny brooch is something you give to people as a lucky charm and to ward off any negativity. I think she said it's called "The evil eye". She brought me back one from Turkey and I thought it's really cute and sweet of her! Now don't worry, this blog is not going to turn into some Blue-Peter-general-knowledge type thing (for all those who don't know 'bout Blue Peter, its a very uncool children's tv show thats suppose to teach children about all the wonders of the world and also shows them how to make things that they'll only end up throwing away the next day when they realise how useless it is) No,its jus me being the geek that I am, sharing something I think is interesting!

Well moving on swiftly to the evening, I went to see Donaeo perform at MTV Base's Live Lounge. As always it was a great performance, and the band was excellent, as always! If you havent seen Donaeo perform yet then you're missin a screw!lol His performances are always exciting and bound to make you move. Also Mpho Skeef and Roll Deep performed too, which were both a-ma-zing!

Well I tried to record a little something but its a bit out of focus at times. I'd like to say it was on purpose and me taking some sort of abstract approach to filming, and call it "Through the eyes of a drunkard". But its not.the recording quality of the music's still good though!

WELL LAST TIME I wrote I said I was goin to knuckle down to some Chopin. but I have a lil bitty confession...I never got to practice. I know! how naughty of me. It's mad because when I was younger I swear my mum was worried she would have to surgically remove me from the piano but nowadays I got so much love for the guitar. I know, I'm such a traitor...but tomorrow's a new day. And I do love the piece I'm learnin. I think its called Waltz in C minor...but you're probably not as geeky as me...geeks rule anyway!lol

Was up until 3 am last night, writing songs. It feels so good to be writing again after my little dry spell. Its like being hungry for hours and hours and then finally eating a lovely plate of food!(what a rubbish analogy but you catch my drift...)

Then I had to get up early to rehearse with this wicked singer KADIJA KAMARA (www.myspace.com/kadijakamara), who I'm doing backing vocals for .She has a show on the 13th sept and its going to be HOT! There's one BIG tune I love called "Keeps Callin".can't wait!

After that, I went to one of my very very good friends and was being a clown with her and her brother. We were giving children's TV tunes some RnB flavour.lol. Harmonising and ad libbing all over the gaff. We were truly entering Central Geekdom. So people out there, don't worry if you thought you were the only one that did that, and if you thought about it,you should try it one day, and if your friends think its slightly idiotic just remember this singer called Obenewa finds it hilarious.lol

Was planning on staying in because my head's like a bloody sieve. My friend a.k.a 'star'(lol) reminded me that we planned to go portobello market. It was AMAZING as it was a beautiful day and I saw some killer clothes but with 'star' by my side I only got allowed to buy a t-shirt.lol

Practiced the guitar and gonna try to knuckle down and get to grips with some piano pieces again. I love me some Chopin so I've blown away the cobwebs, dusted off the dust off my books, and going to attempt to rekindle the love for my piano!

WELL YESTERDAY WAS A GOOD DAY!Thought of more ideas for my website (www.obenewa.com) so I'm getting there. Really liked the web designer and his ideas.Want to write a song 2day but we'll see how it goes. Jus chillin really as the funds are non-existent.lol.(well you gotta laugh otherwise you'll cry...right?)

Saw some killer clothes in topshop yesterday. My lil sis dragged me in there cos she thought she wanted 2 buy a dress. Whilst I was worryingly perspiring at the thought of making another unnecessary luxurious spend, she was deciding whether she actually wanted it! for like 20 mins!I really wanted to leave the shop cos it was depressing me :-( lol. Then when she thought she wanted it again, I went and asked a lady to go to the stockroom and get a size 6 cos there were none on shopfloor. THEN my sis didn't want it again.

So I want to apologize to all employees that had to go to the stockroom,dig out whatever the customer wanted and then find out that they didn't even need too!

After finally leaving my sis, I went and recorded a new song of mine "Hate the Way I Love You". I can't wait to put it up on my myspace and facebook. so look out people!

Well its bout 7:30 am...early times do not agree with me but I got a meeting this morning with a web company. Hope all goes well...(fingers crossed)

Leopard skin is another fave of mine so once I conquer this page and start designing I'm afraid you mite have to see a little leopard print in the background! Those shoes are ridiculous!
